She was a daughter of the late Nathaniel Serper and the late Selma (Lazarus) Gold.
She is survived by her 3 children, Susie Katz, Jay Pelletz (Mary), and Layne Mayer (Marc); Proud Grammy to Jake and Maddie Katz, Allie, Max, Harrison, Madison and Grace Pelletz, and Henry, Jackson, and Rose Mayer; and 3 great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late June Rosenfeld and a loving aunt to her 4 nieces and nephews, Marjorie (David), Leslie (Brian), David (Carole) and Michael (Halley).
Born and raised in Long Beach, NY, she settled and raised her family in Worcester, Mass.
She then spent more than 25 years living in The Greater Boston area, in which she enthusiastically took advantage of everything the city had to offer both culturally and socially.
Lynn was the consummate student. She received an education degree from Curry college, all while raising 3 young children, and immediately started a long-term career as a special ed teacher. She overcame many obstacles and at the age of 51 received her doctorate in education from The University of Massachusetts. She then built a laser focused and impressive business in which she created “The Serper Method”, a unique and successful philosophy that helped hundreds of people suffering from dementia and Alzheimers disease.
She adored her family and friends with a passion. Her adventurous spirit made her the ultimate world traveler who was always up for a trip to anywhere. Lynn touched so many people and was a fiercely loyal and loving friend to those who were lucky enough to become part of her very large inner circle. She was the most beautiful, eloquent and engaging woman, with an infectious laugh that brought joy to so many. She will be deeply missed.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the Brain Injury Association of America.
Due to the current restrictions on social gatherings, her funeral will be private.
