
ProvidenceDixon, Margaret C. "Peg", of Providence, died Sunday at Kent County Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Russell E. Dixon. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Michael J. and Mary (Walsh) Kelly, she had been a lifelong city resident. Peg was a secretary for the State of Rhode Island, Department of Human Services for 23 years, retiring in 1996. She was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church, and a past president of the Blessed Sacrament School Parent Teacher Association. An avid golfer, she was a member of the Saint Joseph Hospital, Fatima Unit, golf league at Triggs Memorial Golf Course, and enjoyed the Boston Red Sox. She leaves a son; Robert E. Dixon of Providence, two daughters; Mary K. Dixon-Stannard, of Wyoming, Margaret C. Dixon of North Providence, a brother, Joseph A. Kelly, Esquire, of Warwick, a sister; Mary D. Bracken of Cumberland, and her beloved grandson, Russell J. Dixon. The funeral will be held Thursday, at 8:45 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Blessed Sacrament Church, Academy Avenue, Providence. Burial will be in Saint Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. Visiting hours Wednesday 4 - 8 pm.
