Dr. Martin O. Kaplan, V.M.D., 94, of South Kingstown, died January 11, 2012. He was the husband of the late Evalyn (Daniels) Kaplan. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was a son of the late Harry and Jeanette (Zukofsky) Kaplan.
Dr. Kaplan was a graduate of West Philadelphia High School, class of 1935, National Farm School, Doylestown, PA, class of 1938, Penn State, class of 1941, University of Pennsylvania Veterinary School, and Army specialized training Corp., class of 1944. Dr. Kaplan practiced veterinary medicine in Rhode Island from 1944 until 2004.
He is survived by his son John M. Kaplan; his brothers Dr. Arnon Kaplan and Morey Kaplan; and his nieces and nephews Michael, Robert, Brian, Phillip, Howard, Allen, Sara, and Ann.
His funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to South Kingstown Animal Rescue League, 506 Curtis Corner Rd., Peace Dale, RI 02883.
