

Coventry Mary D. Fougere, 83, of Riverview Healthcare Center, Main Street, died Saturday at Kent County Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Ernest M. Fougere. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Earl Skuce and Margaret (Lee) Richard. Mrs. Fougere was a telephone switchboard operator at the Dr. Joseph Ladd Center, Exeter, for fifteen years, and previously worked at Warwick City Hall during the administration of former mayor Philip W. Noel. Mary loved life's simple pleasures and enjoyed spending time with friends and family, listening to music, and indulging in good coffee and chocolates. She was especially fond of her "grandson", Fougee, the boxer. She leaves a son, Richard E. Fougere; two daughters, Margaret L. Lucke and Elizabeth A. Rainone; a sister, Virginia Hutchinson; six loving granddaughters, Michele, Debra, Deana, Patricia, Cynthia and Tayhra; and twelve great-grandchildren. The funeral and visitation will be held Tuesday morning, from 8:15 am to 9:15 am, in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, (Rt117) Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Saint Timothy Church, 1799 Warwick Avenue, Warwick. Burial will be in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Potter League for Animals, 87 Oliphant Lane, Middletown, RI 02842 in her memory will be appreciated.
