Born in Providence he was the son of the late William and Anna (Erler) Maynert.
Mr. Maynert was the co-owner of the former William F. Miller Corp. retiring in 1986 when he moved to Florida and became a resident there for 23 years before moving back to RI. He also served 41/2 years in the Army of which 35 months was in the Pacific Theatre during World War II and was a recipient of the Bronze Star Medal.
Melvyn is survived by Marilyn Dyjak, Richard Maynert, Elizabeth Bailey and Richard Sargeson; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren and two sisters, Carolyn Goodrich and Elaine Seddon.
A graveside service is to be held in the Quidnessett Cemetery, North Kingstown, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to your favorite charity.
