

Providence- Nugent, Mildred B. (Brennen), 88, of Providence and Bonnet Shores, Narrragansett, passed away on Easter Sunday at Mt. St. Rita's Health Centre in Cumberland surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife ot the late Vincent P. Nugent.Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (Ferguson) Brennen.Mildred was a graduate of St. Xavier Academy and Rhode Island College of Education, where she served as the president of the class of 1946. She earned her Master's Degree in Education and attended Boston University for her CAGS.She began her career as a teacher at Henry Barnard School in Providence and later became a faculty member at Rhode Island College, where she taught for many years.She was a long time member of the Bonnet Shores Beach Club and Golf League. She was also a member of the Jamestown Country Club Women's Golf League.She was a communicant of St. Pius V. Church in Providence and St. Veronica Chapel in Narragansett.She is survived by her children, Vincent W. Nugent and his wife Maureen of East Greenwich, Margaret M. Nelson and her husband Robert of Greenville and Mark T. Nugent, Esq. and his wife Jeanne of Barrington, and by eight grandchildren, Robert Nelson and his wife Morgan, Brian Nelson and his wife Elise, Mark Jr., Gregory and William Nugent and Meaghan, Ainsley and Keara Nugent and her great granddaughter Charlotte Nelson. She was the sister of the late Joseph Lynch and William Brennen.Her funeral will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at 8:30 am from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith St. Providence. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am in St. Pius V. Church, Eaton St. Providence. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.
