

Olabode S. “Sam” Odunaike, 52, of Providence, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Sessy Hotonu.Sam was born in Lagos, Nigeria, he was the son of the late Adetola and Rebecca O. (Talabi) Odunaike. He graduated from Nigerian People High School and earned a Certificate from New England Tractor Trailer Training School of Rhode Island. Sam was employed as a Maintenance Specialist with the United State Postal Service for 14 years. He was also an active member of Love Divine Church where he held a position as a “Chairman". Besides his wife, he leaves his children, Ola Odunaike, of Italy, Mosun Odunaike, of Attleboro, MA, Olufunmilayo Odunaike, of Lincoln, Christina Odunaike, of Pawtucket, and Sean Rainey, of West Warwick; three brothers, Abiodun Odunaike, of Providence,Oluwasegun Oshin and Owolabi Oshin, both of Nigeria; a sister, Aduke Dosunmu, of Nigeria; and a granddaughter, Layla Odunaike.His funeral with visitation will begin on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at 9:00 am, in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence, followed by a funeral service at 10:30 am, in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence.
