Paula A. Grantmaier

Paula “Meme” Grantmaier, 79, of Cranston, RI, passed away on April 8, 2026, exactly one month before her 80th birthday. Lovingly known as “Meme” to everyone who met her, she was a beloved figure in her family whose life was defined by devotion, hard work, and unwavering love.

Born in Providence to the late Antonia "Etta" (Foti) Granata and Antonio Granata. She is survived by her daughter, Keri Marshall of Cranston; two sisters, Joan Rothemich of Coventry, RI (Joseph Rothemich) and Donna Migliorelli of Cranston (Frank Migliorelli); and grandchildren Alexander Marshall of Ware, MA (wife Alycia Marshall) and Allison Kiely of Malden, MA (husband Dylan Kiely). She also leaves behind great-grandchildren: Alexander and Alycia’s son Landon (due in October), and Allison and Dylan’s sons Jack (born July 2024) and Henry (due in May).

A devoted single mother, Paula took immense pride in her daughter Keri. She spent countless hours supporting Keri’s activities — cheering at softball games regardless of rain, wind, or bitter cold, sitting through dance and gymnastics classes, competitions, and shows, volunteering at skating shows, and never missing a competition. She also never missed a football or basketball game that Keri cheered at during her years at Classical. Her family was the center of her life; everything she did was for them.

Paula enjoyed two long careers, first with Davol (formerly in Cranston) and later with Collette Vacations. Though she officially retired in 2020, she began working as a lunch aide for the Warwick School Department once schools reopened after the pandemic. She was known for her strong work ethic and quiet perseverance.

Travel brought Paula great joy; her favorite trips included a southern tour through Georgia, the Carolinas, and Florida, and visits to four of the Hawaiian islands.

In recent years she bravely faced dementia and COPD. She is now at peace. The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and support they have received and will miss her dearly.
