

Philip J. Hill, 91, died peacefully on Saturday, October 22, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Providence, he was the son of Davis and Alberta (Lassey) Hill. He was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School. Phil was a U.S. Army veteran having served his country during World War II. Phil was president of Ahern Corporation and was the founder and president of Able Bituminous Contractors, Inc. He was a member of the RI Truck Owners Assoc. as well as the Seekonk Lions Club. He was formerly from Seekonk, where he served on the Planning Board. He was a man of wisdom, strength, dignity and generosity who deeply touched many lives. He is survived by his two daughters; Ann Galvin of Cranston and Susan Kane (Vincent Michael) of Seekonk, and four grandchildren; Kathryn and Michael Galvin and Ryan (Meghan) and Evan (Amanda) Kane and one great grandson, Mason Kane. He was the former husband of the late Jean Hill, mother of his children. He was the brother of Betty McGinnis of TN and the late Mary Sheldon, David Hill, Ruth Felice, and Malcolm Hill. He is also survived by many adoring nieces and nephews. His funeral will be begin on Thursday, at 9:30 am, followed by a funeral service at 10:30 am, in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, Warwick. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Burial with military honors will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours, Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
