

Phyllis Marie Catalano Sulkowski, age 87, passed away January 6, 2026, in North Providence, RI. Born in Providence, Rhode Island, she was the daughter of the late Savino G. Catalano and Gilda (Cardella) Catalano.
She is survived by her daughters, Marybeth Sulkowski and Heather A. Sulkowski and her husband Lance Boynton; grandsons, Brandon H. and Justin J. Sulkowski; sister, Joyce Montecalvo; brother, Gerald P. Catalano; and multiple nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 59 years, John J. Sulkowski, Jr., and her son, John J. Sulkowski, III.
Phyllis graduated from Hope High School. Following graduation, she worked as dental assistant. She was a stay-at-home mother for many years and then later worked at Rhode Island Hospital for 29 years. In retirement she enjoyed her time as a snowbird in Florida.
She was active in her community by serving as a volunteer at Meals on Wheels for many years. She was currently serving as an officer at the Major Walter G. Gatchell Post 306 – VFW Auxiliary in Pawtucket, RI. She enjoyed puzzles, crocheting, and reading. Her kindness was limitless with family and friends. She gave of herself without needing praise, and in doing so, taught us the true meaning of love. She will be deeply missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Monday, January 12, 2026 from 8:30 am to 9:30 am in the Pontarelli-Marino Funeral Home 971 Branch Ave, Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 1081 Mineral Spring Ave, North Providence at 10:00 am. Burial will be at RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter, RI.
