Richard L. Audette, 71, of North Providence, passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at Hope Hospice Care surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of Geraldine Francis (Whitehead) Audette, they were married for 49 years.
Born in Cranston, he was a son of the late Maurice E. and Mary E. (Ducharme) Audette.
Richard was a hard worker who owned his own business. He was a self-employed auto mechanic who took great pride in being able to put 2 children through college.
He was a generally quiet man but was always there for the people that he loved. He was a Division Captain (Ret.) in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary for over 30 years. He enjoyed helping people in need as well as teaching others about boat safety. He was a Qualified Examiner who was able to train and certify other auxiliarists.
In addition to his loving wife Geraldine he is survived by his daughter Jaime Audette and her partner Michael Baker, his brother, David Audette and his wife, Judy.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated January 4, 2023 at 10:00 am in the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul, 30 Fenner Street, Providence. Inurnment will be private.
