Richard E. "Dick" Belanger

Auburn, MassachusettsRichard E. "Dick" Belanger, 73, of Renaud Drive, Auburn, MA, formerly of North Providence, passed away Monday, October 10, 2011 at the Life Care Center of Auburn, Auburn, MA, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Patricia A. (Short) Belanger.Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Edward & Lillian (McCarthy) Belanger.Prior to retirement, Richard was the Proprietor of the, J.J. Manufacturing Company, for over 22 years.Dick was a fan of all the New England sports teams, Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics, New England Patriots, and the Providence College Friars. He loved food, and dining at his favorite restaurant, Twin Oaks, in Cranston. Dick was a devoted father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family and friends.He is survived by his loving children, John P. Belanger, of Keene, NH, Joseph M. Belanger, of East Hampton, CT, Patricia A. Belanger and Eileen A. Silva, both of Auburn, MA; three grandchildren; two nieces, and a sister in law, Barbara A. (Short) Theberge. He was also the brother of the late Pauline Varin.His funeral will be held on Friday, at 8:45 am from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am in Saint Patrick Church, 244 Smith Street, Providence. Burial will follow in Saint Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours will be, Thursday, from 6-8 pm.
