

Richard W. Youngs, 81, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, August 9, 2016 at the Greenwood Center, in Warwick. He was the husband of the late Ann S. (Eliason) Youngs. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Charles Henry Francis and Ruth (Langton) Youngs. He served his country proudly with the United States Air Force. Richard worked for the former Almacs Supermarket and was a foreman at Bates Plastics for many years, prior to retirement. He had a great sense of humor and will be remembered by all the jokes that he told. Mr. Youngs enjoyed making candles and baking blueberry muffins, as he was often called the muffin man. He leaves his children, Kimberly Youngs, of Warwick, Christine Nicholopoulos, of Cranston, and Darlene Beattie, of Johnston; grandchildren, Jason Nicholopoulos, Amanda Beattie, Adrianna Nicholopoulos, Emily Beattie, and Taylor Cabral; and a great granddaughter, Ella Beattie Joyner. Richard was the brother of the late Charles Henry Francis Youngs, Jr. and Caroline Youngs Cerio. His funeral will be held on Friday, August 12, 2016 at 9:00 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, Warwick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, in Saint John the Evangelist Church, 63 Church Street, Slatersville. Interment will follow in Saint John the Evangelist Cemetery, Church Street, Slatersville. Visiting hours, Thursday, August 11, 2016 from 5-8 pm.
