Rita Catherine Devine

Narragansett:Devine, Rita C. (Lang), 80, of Starr Drive, passed away on Sunday at South County Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter A. Devine. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Charles F. and Sarah M. (Ryan) Lang. Rita was a cook for the Cranston School Department for twelve years. She faithfully attended her grandchildren's sporting and academic events. She was a graduate of St. Xavier's Academy in Providence and a member of the Alumnae Association. She was the devoted mother of James E. Devine and his wife Mary of Richmond, Stephen A. Devine and his wife AnnMarie of Cranston, Karen A. Caouette of Cranston, Joan F. Rogers and her husband Raymond of Narragansett, and Carolyn Caouette and her husband Jean of North Providence. She is survived by her brothers, William T. Lang of Lincoln and George J. Lang of Warwick; her sister, Mary M. Remington of Narragansett and eleven grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Charles F. Lang, Jr. She is predeceased by her beloved son-in-law, Marcel Caouette. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 8:15 am from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am in St. Veronica Chapel, 1035 Boston Neck Road, Narragansett. Burial will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
