Robert R. Cardente

Robert Rudy Cardente, 83, of Smithfield, passed away October 27, 2025. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Pasquale and Adelaide (Ceraldi) Cardente and brother of the late Valentino B. Cardente and Joyce Cardente.

Robert was a resident with the Fogarty Center for many years where he flourished and worked on many jobs. Robert loved to work.

Robert also enjoyed keeping track of local weather and sharing the latest reports with his friends. He loved watching sports, game shows and crime dramas. Robert had a routine on Sunday mornings of going to buy the newspaper and getting a coffee. After reading the paper he would cut coupons which he would share with friends.

Robert had a great memory for birthdays of family members and his closest friends. Following his Catholic faith was very important to him. He took his rosary to bed every night and prayed for family and friends.

Robert’s smile could light up a room. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

He leaves his sister in law, Jeanne Cardente; niece, Pamela Gregoire and nephew, Michael Cardente and his wife Kelly; and great nieces Sophia and Olivia Gregoire, Lauren and Alexa Cardente, and Sarah Charland. He also leaves many friends from the Fogarty Center.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, November 14, 2025 for both Jeanne and her brother in law Robert at 10:00 AM in St. Augustine Church, 639 Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Providence. Burial to follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob’s memory to the Fogarty Center.
