

Born in Providence, a son of the late David and Elizabeth (Plant) Findlay, Robert was a resident of Johnston since 1997, previously residing in North Providence. He was the husband of Jane (Tramonti) Findlay; father of Brian James Nicastro and Kevin Vincent Nicastro, and Cindy Marie Hallal; grandfather of 6 and great-grandfather of 9. He was also the brother of the late David and William Findlay, and Jessie Mae Aspenwell.
Robert had worked as a facilities manager for Intelex Technologies (ITT) in the first automated post office located in Providence, RI for 20 years – the last 3 years as a maintenance control analyst. He then spent 7 years with Titleist in New Bedford, MA after which he worked 10 years with Georgia-Pacific as a facilities manager in Franklin, MA before retiring. He was a former member of the Elks Lodge #920 in Pawtucket, spent 18 years with Youth Programs of Pawtucket – Pony Colt Baseball through the High School Level, and enjoyed fishing and Jeeps.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, 4-7 p.m. with funeral services Wednesday at 10 a.m. from the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. in Mary, Mother of Mankind Church, 25 Fourth Street, North Providence, followed by burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Providence Animal Rescue League, 34 Elbow Street, Providence, RI 02903.
