

Robert was the first son of the late James and Edna Heywood.
Robert was born in Cambridge, MA and was a graduate of Rindge Tech High School.
Shortly after graduation, Robert join the United States Army and received an honorable discharge.
After being honorably discharged from the United Army, Robert took up employment at General Electric as a weld specialist in the construction and development of the B1 bomber engine. Robert would later retire, and move to Rhode Island where he would spend the rest of his days surrounded by family and friends.
Robert leaves behind his wife Dorothy Heywood; sons Robert F. Heywood Jr., Trey Williams, Tony Heywood and John King; daughters Caralyn Heywood, Latrese Williams, Lashaya Williams, Latia Williams, Eyvonne King, Monique Dewornu and the late Linda King; grandsons Arias King, Dontay Heywood, Dominic Heywood and Stone Heywood; granddaughters Lauren Williams, Nina Simone Heywood, Taylor Renee Heywood, Desirae Shealey, Daeyvenah Castillo, Julia Ingram, Destiny King, Hannah Dewornu, and Sophia Dewornu; brothers Francis and James Heywood; and sister Dianne Heywood Jones and his late beloved sister Sandy Heywood.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of his life on Saturday, September 16, 2023 from 9:00 am – 12:00 p.m. in the Pontarelli-Marino Home, 971 Branch Ave, Providence. Burial will be private.
