Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Joseph and Esther (Fletcher) Melillo and had been the husband of Loretta E. (Piccoli) Melillo for 55 years.
Mr. Melillo was a self-employed mason.
He was the father of Cheryl M. DelSignore and her husband Detlev, Brenda L., Robert E. Jr. and Paul A. Melillo; grandfather of Brianna DelSignore and Anthony Melillo; brother of William and George Melillo, Marion Cicchelli and the late Joseph Melillo and Doris Glynn.
Visitation will be held Friday, 5-8 p.m. with a funeral on Saturday at 9 a.m. from the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony Church, 1413 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence, followed by burial in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
