East Providence Robert J. Stevens, 49, of Pawtucket Avenue, died unexpectedly Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at home. He was the companion of Lisa Dardeen for the past ten years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Joseph J. and Kay (Brady) Stevens. Bob was a plumber for several plumbing companies during his career before retiring. He was an avid motorcyclist. In addition to his companion Lisa, he leaves two sons, Bryan S. Stevens and Robert J. Stevens, Jr.; a sister, Dawn M. Creighton and her husband John; two brothers, Joseph J. Stevens and his wife Danita and John J. Stevens; a loving grandson, Robert J. Stevens, III; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his niece, Lisa Stevens. The visiting hours and funeral service will be held Wednesday evening in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Visiting hours are from 4:00 - 7:00 pm. The funeral service will begin at 7:00 pm.
