Bob and Dick Rebola were my business partners and my very best friends and Anne were a remarkable people. I loved them and miss them always.

We miss Bob and Anne every day. Our memory of Bob concerns his love of turtles. Every birthday I would find some thing with a turtle on it to give him and I always had so much fun looking for a turtle gift.

Whenever I think of Bob , I remember his love of turtles. For every birthday I would look forward to finding him a gift with a turtle on it. Richie and I miss you and Ann so much. You were our special friends.

I was 3 years younger than Bob as he was a friend of my older brother Les as well as me. I traded him for my first BB gun.  He was making shells out of casings and powder at the time, I remember him as a really nice friend, soft spoken, and always moving the chalk of hair back onto his forehead from in front of is eyes. The photo of him would enable me to recognize him right away, though I last saw him in the early 1950s.  We lived between our home and the local movie theater, so it was usual for Bob and my brother to go to the movies, with my brother teasing me all the way, but never Bob.  We watched 17 cartoons, a double feature and the Warner-Pathe News. Admittance to the Manor Theater was 22 cents, popcorn was a dime and candle in the machine a nickel.  Though I was young, because of his demeanor, he made a lasting impression on me.  I am somehow very saddened to know he is gone, and am absolutely sure he was cherished by his family and friends. We were the coca cola and chipped ham sandwich on white bread, white bucks and t-shirt and khaki generation, the Squirrel Hill boys.  Me heart-felt condolences to you, his family.  Martin Buncher

I remember most Bob’s energetic contribution to the Temple Habonim Klezmer band, later known (at his suggestion, if I recall correctly) as the Klezphonics.  As the percussion section, he was always the driving force behind the music. Unlike the ordinary klezmer percussionist with a drum kit, Bob played the conga drums, adding a unique flavor to our music.  It wasn’t only the drums, though, his personality also made him a driving force behind the band.  Always upbeat, kind and generous, he often held us together.  We often rehearsed in the Teifeld basement surrounded by the rocks, turtles and other artifacts that testified to Bob’s love of nature.  A break from rehearsing was never boring.  Bob was ever a friend as well as a colleague.  I have it been able to hear Klezmer without imagining the drums as Bob played them.  That will always be a fond memory.


Dear Bob,  Their are so many memories. The time that You, Fred, and Dick spent together @ Northeast Placements were the Best Of Times for sure!   Also, we so enjoyed when we all got together for a luncheon. Anne was always so gracious and so lovely. She loved telling us all about her Beautiful Grandchildren. Memories that will last a Lifetime.
