Roger J. Blanchard

Roger J. Blanchard, 84, passed away October 18, 2015. He was the husband of Ann T. (Angeloni) Blanchard; son of the late Frederick and Fabiola (Octeau) Blanchard; father of Debra St. Hilaire and her husband David; grandfather of Carlene Fontaine and her husband Neal, and Louis Carlozzi Jr; great-grandfather of Abrielle and Nathan; brother of Arline Proulx, Claire Raymond, Dennis Blanchard, Suzanne Blanchard and the late Gloria Parquette.

Roger was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a retired truck driver for Teamsters Local 251 and also a 4th degree member of the Bouffard Council, Knights of Columbus.

Visitation Wednesday, 4-7 p.m. with his funeral Thursday at 8 a.m. from the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. in the Church of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 1081 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence. Graveside burial with military honors will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Holy Family Home, 5 Gibbs Street, North Providence, RI 02904.
