

East Greenwich -- Shaw, Theresa B. (Babin), 91, of Westfield Dr., died peacefully on Tuesday at the home of her son Michael, where she lived for the past three years. She was the former wife of the late Ernest H. Shaw. Born in Worcester, she was a daughter of the late Willard and Emma (Fortier) Babin and lived in Worcester for most of her life. Theresa worked for the former Peoples Savings Bank in Worcester for many years and was a founding member of St. Joan of Arc Church. Besides her son Michael, she leaves her sons, James A. Shaw of California, Robert E. Shaw and Richard J. Shaw, both of Massachusetts and her daughter Ann T. Briggs of Massachusetts, a brother, Lionel Babin of Ventura, CA, two sisters, Evelyn Lapointe of Worcester and Claire Girouard of Charlton, MA, 20 grandchildren and many great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Richard and Aimee Babin, Bernadette Lapointe, Antoinette Bleu and Henrietta Corey and grandmother of the late Thomas Shaw.Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 9am to 10:30am in the Mercadante Funeral Home and Chapel, 370 Plantation St. Worcester, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am in St. Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton, MA.
