

Thomas Forese, Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather and esteemed business leader, age 82, of Providence, Rhode Island, formerly of Stoneham, Massachusetts; Windham, New Hampshire; and Coatesville, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2026, Valentine’s Day, with his loving wife, Mary, and his son by his side. Mary was faithfully at his side every day over the last six months as he faced his illness with strength and dignity.
Tom was the devoted husband of Mary Kay Forese. This coming November, they would have celebrated 50 years of love, laughter, heartbreak, joy, and unwavering friendship.
Tom devoted more than thirty years to pension and endowment administration and senior corporate leadership.
In 1997, he became the President of Northeast Retirement Services, Inc. (NRS). NRS provided administrative and consulting services to retirement plans and tax exempt organizations, including many colleges and universities. Under his leadership, the company expanded its trust product administration to include numerous fund families. Tom also created the Advisors Charitable Gift Fund and Global Trust Company, a Maine non depository trust company that grew to become a leader in collective investment trust services.
In 1981, Tom became the Chief Operating Officer of the Savings Banks Employees Retirement Association (SBERA), an association of more than one hundred Massachusetts savings banks. He was elected President and Plan Administrator of SBERA in 1992, recognized for his extensive expertise in retirement plan administration and donor accounting for tax exempt organizations. Additionally, he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Savings Bank Life Insurance of Massachusetts.
Earlier in his career, Tom was President of a Boston and New York based data processing service company and a provider of turnkey systems, developing a strong foundation in computer science long before his later achievements at NRS and SBERA.
He often expressed gratitude for his Board of Directors, his team in Woburn, Massachusetts, and the advisors who helped support his many professional accomplishments.
Tom was a proud graduate of Villanova University, earning his Bachelor of Science in Economics with a major in Finance. He also completed the School for Executive Development at Fairfield University.
Thomas is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Forese, and his four children: Vincent Forese and his wife, Sharon; Gina Tulane; Thomas Forese III and his wife, Casey; and Clifford Forese.
He was predeceased by his cherished granddaughter, Katie Tulane, whose memory remained close to his heart throughout his life. He was the loving grandfather of Sarah and Molly Tulane; Sophia, Francesca, Vinnie, and Gianna Forese; Madison, Jack, Tommy, and Allison Forese; and Angelena, Andraya, and Atalya Forese and the proud great grandfather of Anthony, Valentina, Charles, and James Thomas. The joy his grandchildren and great grandchildren brought him was immeasurable and their lives continue to carry forward his legacy of love and family.
Thomas was also the brother of several siblings and the uncle of many nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in his life.
Thomas will be cremated at Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home. Service dates and additional details will be shared at a later date. Anyone wishing to honor Tom is welcome to reach out for information about the upcoming celebration of his life.
