

Warwick Vincent L. Doyle, 61, of Baldwin Road, died suddenly Thursday at Kent County Memorial Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Gail F. (Lally) Doyle. They were married for twenty-seven years. Born in Providence, a son of the late Vincent L. and Catherine (Kelly) Doyle, he lived in Warwick for the past thirty years, previously living in Cranston. Mr. Doyle was a teacher in the Warwick School Department for thirty-two years, retiring in 2005. He began his teaching career at Winman Junior High School and spent most of his career as an English teacher at Toll Gate High School. He later joined the faculties of Johnson & Wales University and the Community College of Rhode Island as an Adjunct Professor of English and Computer Science. For several years, he was a summer instructor for the RI Teachers and Technology Initiative based out of the University of Rhode Island. He was a 1966 graduate of Bishop Hendricken High School, a 1970 graduate of Providence College, where he also earned his Masters of Education Degree.He participated in the ROTC program at Providence College and was a United States Army veteran. Besides his wife Gail, he leaves a son, Joseph V. Doyle; a daughter, Christine M.C. Doyle; a brother, Tomm Doyle; a nephew, Matthew Doyle; two nieces, Leana Zappe and Shannon Lally; as well as extended family members and friends in both the United States and Ireland. He was predeceased by his sister, Ann M. Doyle. The funeral will be held Monday, at 9:15 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road (Rt117) Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am in Saint Catherine Church, 3252 Post Road, Warwick. Burial, with military honors, will be in Saint Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours Sunday, 3 - 7 pm.
