Wheaton W. Arnold, III, “Wheatie” 51, of Johnston, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at his home. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Wheaton W. Arnold, Jr. and Margaret (Ahern) Arnold. Wheatie worked as a senior weigh master at the Rhode Island Resource Recovery Corporation for several years, prior to retiring due to illness. An avid golfer, he also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He leaves his siblings, Timothy J. Arnold, of Johnston, Kelly A. Rose, of North Providence, and Sandra L. Johnson, of West Warwick; and many nieces and nephews. Wheatie was also the brother of the late William J. “Billy” Arnold. His funeral will be held on Friday, at 8:30 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am, in Saint Thomas Church, 65 Fruit Hill Avenue, Providence.
