

Charles “Chuck” W. Leaf III, 89, passed on December 23, 2017. Born February 20, 1928 in St. Maries, Idaho to Charles W. and Lurline Leaf. Chuck graduated from Denver South High in 1946 and then served in the 82nd Airborne and National Guard. He received a Petroleum Engineering Degree from the Colorado School of Mines in 1952, where he was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. In 1953 he married his lifelong love, Grace, and two children followed, Charles IV and Lori. Chuck worked for Getty Oil CO and Texaco before retiring in 1986. His career took him and the family across the Western U.S. and Canada where he was able to pursue his love of the Rocky Mountains. Chuck and Grace finally settled down in Pueblo West where they enjoyed spending time in the mountains, fly fishing (Never met a Brookie he couldn’t catch), golfing with the “Old Farts in Carts”, and watching his beloved Broncos. Chuck was preceded in death by his loving Wife, Grace; sister, Roberta Graham; and his parents. He is survived by son, Chuck (Diana) Leaf of Avon, IN and daughter Lori Greer of Pueblo West; 4 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 18 great, great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Per Chuck’s wishes, there will be no services. In lieu of food and flowers, please make a donation to the Dorcy Cancer Center Patient Needs Fund through the St. Mary Corwin Foundation.
