Charles Lee Parsons

Mr. Charles Lee Parsons was born on November 1, 1926 in Las Animas, Colorado, Bent, to the late Leafy Elizabeth Parsons and Roe L. Parsons He passed away at the age of 91 on August 26, 2018 at Bonaventure Assisted Living in Pueblo, Colorado. Charles was preceded in death by his brother, Herbert Parsons; sisters, Leona Zordel, Doris Boley, and Virginia Pryor; and great-grandchild, Hayden Isac Parsons.

Charles attended Las Animas High School. Charles served his country proudly in the United States Navy from 1944 to 1946. He was a Pharmacists Mate 3rd Class, Assistant in the Operating Room, and Scrub Corpsman in San Diego, CA. He also worked at the Columbus Ohio Post Office as a clerk until he became a Postmaster at the Sedalia Ohio Post Office until he retired in 1992. He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Irene Parsons; stepdaughters, Karon Odell, Sharon Smith, Janet Miller, and Belinda Riley; sister, Norma Wyckoff; grandchildren, Christopher L. (Patricia Ann) Parsons, Steven M. Parsons, and Matthew L. Rutherford; and great-grandchildren, Colby W. Parsons, Clayton A. Parsons, Ajax C. Parsons, Abigail S. Rutherford, and Eli L. Rutherford. He had a passion for woodworking, jewelry making, rock collecting, gardening, and visiting his home place. Friends and family members may attend his graveside service at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 30, 2018, at Imperial Memorial Gardens- 5450 Hwy 78 West, Pueblo, Colorado, 81005.
