Donna Joy Pacheco, a lifelong Pueblo, Colorado native and beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, unexpectedly passed away on May 3, 2026. Born on July 26, 1952, Donna lived a life rooted in kindness, strength, intelligence, and deep love for the people around her.
Donna was married to the love of her life, Charles Esquibel, who lovingly called her “P.” Together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, hard work, and adventure. Donna and Charles shared a passion for traveling and were fortunate to explore nearly all over the world together, creating memories and stories that would last a lifetime.
She was the proud mother of Michelle Cauffiel (Randy) and a deeply devoted grandmother to Daniella Amendola (Jeremy) and Garet Cauffiel (Jordan). Donna’s greatest joy came from her family, especially her treasured great-grandchildren, Addalynn, Ellie, and Maisie, whom she absolutely adored and spoiled every chance she got.
Donna was truly one of a kind — the wisest, kindest, and most intelligent soul many had ever known. She had an incredible ability to make everyone feel welcome and comfortable no matter where they were. Whether in her home, workplace, or among strangers, Donna carried warmth and grace that naturally drew people to her.
She believed deeply in positivity and joy, often surrounding herself with reminders to “Live, Laugh, Love,” a phrase that reflected the way she genuinely lived her life. Her home and workspaces were filled with those words, just as her life was filled with compassion, humor, and love.
Donna had an unmatched work ethic and took pride in everything she did. She loved her years working at IBM and later found even greater joy working alongside her husband at their law office. Together they built not only a successful partnership, but a life centered on dedication and mutual respect.
She also loved reading, parades, celebrating holidays, and creating magical memories for her family — especially at Christmas. Donna made every holiday feel special, going above and beyond to make sure everyone around her felt loved, celebrated, and cared for.
Donna’s legacy lives on through the family she cherished, the countless lives she touched, and the unconditional love and wisdom she shared so freely. She will be profoundly missed and forever remembered. Her wings were ready, but our hearts were not.
