Dorothy Louise Harvey

Dorothy Louise Harvey, 97 of Penrose, Colorado passed away November 19, 2023 from natural causes. She was born April 10, 1926 to Hunter and Helen (Burbidge) Mason in Pueblo, Colorado. Dorothy spent most of her childhood in Pueblo. She was a member of the Canon City SDA Church. She graduated from Campion Academy, Loveland, Colorado in 1945. She continued her education graduating in the first class of License Practical Nurses September, 1958 from Pueblo Community College. She married the love of her life Leroy Harvey on May 13, 1955 in Raton, New Mexico celebrating 63 years of marriage before Leroy passed February 10, 2018. They moved to Penrose, Colorado in 1958 where they lived until their health caused them to become residents of Progressive Care Center, Canon City, Colorado in 2016. She worked as a nurse at Parkview Hospital and St. Thomas Moore Hospital plus various nursing homes in the area. She was an avid reader and avid crocheter, wining many ribbons at the Colorado State Fair. She also enjoyed traveling and helping others.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Albert(Doris) and Raymond Mason; sisters, Freida Mason, Mary Morgan (Jim) and Edna Slavin (Dave); husbands, Howard Vincent and Leroy Harvey; daughter, Sharon Vincent; son-in-laws, Walter Wyatt and Henry Maciuk; granddaughter, Jana Harvey.

She is survived by one brother, Harry Mason (Shirley); sister, Lola North; sons, Doyle Harvey and Chris Harvey (Cindy); daughters, Claudia Maciuk and Catherine Wyatt; step-son, David Harvey (Cathie); 6 grandsons and 3 granddaughters; 27 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter; as well as many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
