After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the Navy during The Korean War. He served in the Florida Keys guarding the coastline. He then attended Pueblo Community College and worked for AT&T as an electrician until retirement. He was on the crew who installed the security phone system when NORAD was first being built.
He is survived by his sister, Marylyn Herman, sister-in-law, Charlotte Kimmick, numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nephews, and great-grand-nieces.
Edward is preceded in death by his parents Mary and Adam Kimmick and his brother George Kimmick
