Butch was a loving husband, father, grandpa, and friend. He would give everything he had to those he loved. Born August 7, 1943 in Washington DC to Elwyn and Gladys (Chambers) Kyffin, Butch was raised in Pueblo where he attended East high school. As an accomplished athlete, Butch wrestled, played football and baseball. Unsure of what project to start first, Butch joined the Navy in 1961 serving honorably on the USS Oriskinay. Butch met and married his lifetime love Pat (Pilkington) in 1967 while attending and graduating from Colorado State University.
Never one to sit still long, Butch spent the next 53 years building a family, houses, prisons, and cars while operating Bob’s generator service and farming in his spare time. He and Pat raised Mike, Tyler (Kaylene), Clint and finally Tina (Gavin) Johnson who then blessed them with grandchildren, Dustin, Makayla, Tamika, Madison, Sailor, and Cayden all of whom were special to their Grandpa.
Being able to fix and build almost anything he needed, Butch enjoyed his projects, horses, skiing, sailing, fishing and time in the mountains but most of all his family whom he graciously passed along his work ethic and passion for life. Butch leaves behind Pat; aforementioned children and grandchildren; his brother John (Judy) Kyffin, sister Kathy (Stan) Schleifer; sister-in-law Pam Pilkington and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Graveside service will be held Monday, January 11, 2021 1 PM at Imperial Memorial Gardens.
