I first met my good friend Faustino Lopez when I was stationed at the Navy Reserve Center on Northern Avenue there in Pueblo, in, oh, probably January 1976. Knowing nothing about what I'd gotten into, Training and Administration of Reserves, I struggled for a while. Faustino was 99% of the time of good cheer and I made an endearing friendship with him.

I believe the last time I saw him was when Sam Castro passed in 2009. He was still his old self, friendly and exciting to speak with. I'm so sorry I fell out of contact with him, and with Monajoy. He will live long in my heart. 

May God rest his soul now, full of joy with his wife, and family and friends who have gone on before him. May God grant you all peace and comfort in the days to come.

We wanted to you to know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. We love you and know that you are strengthened by the fact that your dad is with Our Lord and sharing eternity with your mom. Your dad's love, his  laugh, and the precious memories you shared will give you strength during this sad time. Faustino was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Elvira “Vera” Lopez; brother, Benigo Lopez;
sisters, Clara Lopez Sanchez and Leandra Lopez Abeyta. 

He is survived by his children, John (Mary) Lopez, Michael (Beverly) Lopez of Yukon, Ok, Debra (Hilario) Alfonso, Lois (Orlando, deceased) Garcia of Aurora, CO, and Monajoy (Simon Plasket) Lopez; 
13 grandchildren; 
18 great-grandchildren; 
sister, Martha Lopez Bawcum; 
partner Virginia Whittington.
