

Harold Walter Knuth, 81, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away Dec. 24, 2021, in Pueblo, Colo. Born to Harold W. and Catherine A. Knuth in Pueblo on July 2, 1940, Harold was one of nine children.
He was 1958 graduate of Central High School, and later became a successful homebuilder. He married Diane Knuth, his wife of 42 years, on June 30, 1979. In 1962, he founded Gem Homes Inc. and Town and Country Properties. In 1969, he built the first home in Pueblo West, the community where he lived for 52 years and raised his children, Diana, David, and Donna. His son still operates Gem Homes today.
Harold was a purveyor of jokes and sayings and he loved making his friends and family laugh. He traveled the world and loved visiting Las Vegas with Diane. He was a skilled outdoorsman and talented home chef, especially known for his famous green chile.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold W. and Catherine A. Knuth; sisters, Patricia Mueller, Joan Vaught, Jean Penn, and Catherine “Chubby” Ames; brothers, William “Bill” Brown, Donald “Butch” Nelson, and Marvin “Moke” Nelson.
Harold is survived by his wife, Diane; daughter Diana (Bill) Centa; son David (Lori) Knuth, daughter Donna Knuth; grandchildren, Dustin, Kyle (Kathleen), Ashley (Victor), Sara, and Cody; great-grandchildren, Emrie, Avery, Bennett, and Scarlett; brother Robert (Charlene) Nelson; nieces and nephews, Cathy Ames-Farmer (Rod Johnson), Rick (Sonia) Vaught, Linda (Carl) Buford, Danny (Glen) Vaught; and numerous great nieces, nephews and special friends. Harold loved celebrating holidays, and Christmas was his favorite. His family will cherish his memory always, and especially during the holiday season. The family will host a private graveside service in his memory.
