Janet N. Harrison, 89, born in Memphis, TN, passed peacefully and went to be with her Lord on Sunday, February 6, 2011. Mrs. Harrison was a graduate of the Northern Illinois Teachers’ College (now Northern Illinois University) in DeKalb, IL. She was a math major who went on to teach in Iowa, Illinois, Texas, and Maryland. She also met the love of her life, Paul E. Harrison, Jr. there and they married in 1943 in Norman, Oklahoma. Janet and Paul were married for 61 years. Paul preceded her in death in 2004. Janet gave generously of her time by volunteering both in Silver Spring, MD where she raised her two children and in Port St. Lucie, FL, where she and Paul spent their retirement. Janet is survived by her two children, Paul (Sally) Harrison of Rye, CO and Ann (Ken) Weiford of Bear, DE; her beloved grandchildren, Andrew and Tyler Harrison and Robyn Weiford; cousins, nieces and nephews; and a host of good friends all around the country.
