Born on December 20, 1925, in Nordenham, Germany; she was the daughter of Marie Mathilde (Vaeye) and Julius Jacob Joseph Carl vanBergen. She married Fay Hall in 1957. She retired from American Federal Savings.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Garden City, KS and enjoyed meeting with the Get Together Girls. She enjoyed classical music, singing in the choir, swimming, baking, knitting, crocheting, and spending time with her grandchildren. She will be remembered for her caring personality, love for family, and enjoying glazed donuts with grandchildren.
She is survived by her son Ronald (Christine) of Garden City. Grandchildren: Sarah Paserpskis, Fort Smith, AR; Elizabeth (Earl) Pinkston, Topeka, KS; Heidi (Cody) Cundiff, Garden City, KS; Larissa (Eric) Melling, Minneapolis, MN; Matilda (William) Howell, Deerfield, KS; Christina (Logan) Sower, Deerfield, KS; Caroline (Nhicolas) Aponte, Manhattan, KS; and Peter Hall, Garden City, KS. Great Grandchildren: Grace and Asa Hamilton; Judah, Demetria, and Aveline Cundiff; Lillia and Amos Melling; Isabella and Kenneth Sower. Sisters: Marie Daberkow, Pueblo West, CO; Adriane vanBergen, Walnut Creek, CA; Brother Frank vanBergen, Pueblo, CO; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and a sister, Julia Yarnell.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 20th, at 2:00 pm at the T.G. McCarthy Chapel. Viewing/Visitation will be held from 9 am to noon on the same day.
A memorial service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Garden City, KS, at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church Endowment Fund.
