Pat was my best friend growing up. The family has went through a lot over the years.  Margaret was a good friend to my mother when we were young.

To Michael, Pat, Gary and the entire Stanifer family,

Mrs. Stanifer was a pillar of strength, grace and class. How she loved her boys, and the twinkle in her eyes when you would joke with her at the kitchen table. I will always remember her perfect hair, wardrobe, and pearl earrings. She will remain a special lady in my heart and in my prayers....along with your father, brothers and sister in law. I pray you all find comfort in knowing you have angels watching over you.

Stanifer Family,

We are so sad to hear about your wonderful, loving mother.  Many, many years ago it was a pleasure to become acquainted with your family.  I especially enjoyed you, Michael, during your high school days when you spent time with Jeff and Mark.  There are lots of memories from the active years at St. Paul United Methodist Church.  Your mother endured many challenges throughout her life taking each so graciously in stride and keeping her faith.  She touched so many lives and will be missed by all of you and those who were fortunate to know her.

Please know we are keeping you all in our prayers at this sad time of loss for your family.

The write up in the paper was absolutely beautiful and definitely described my grandma (Margaret) to perfection! She was truly an amazing woman...she gave us all someone to look up to and aspire to be like. Her sincerity and gratefulness were two of her traits that I admired most. I have never spoken the words "Grandma Stanifer" without instantly getting a warm feeling in my heart and bringing a smile to my face. RIP Grandma.

Mrs.Stanifer was such an awesome lady. So kind & so very soft spoken. I met her thru my Aunt Rose Berta many years ago. RIP Ma'am, as it was a privilege to have met you. Sorry Gary, Pat & Mike for your loss.

As is my habit, I checked in with my hometown newspaper this morning and saw the notice about Margaret.  I would have preferred a personal note to each of you, but I'm afraid my years away from Pueblo now has me a bit out of touch ... no address (either physical or e-mail) for any of you.  There are few women in my life for whom I held more admiration that Margaret.  When I started spending a good deal of time around your family after Jack's accident, I came to appreciate what a wonderful person she was.  Margaret *always* made me feel welcome ... but, of course, she did that with everyone.  She was the epitome of a gracious lady, even during the times of adversity in her life.  I send my sincere condolences on the loss of your Mom.
