Marshall Elmer Downey took the step across the threshold of eternity on October 28, 2013 for the visit with his God, creator, sustainer, and redeemer. He was born on his grandfather’s homestead November 19, 1919 and had reached the age of 93 years, 11 months, and 9 days. Marshall served in the Navy until 1946. He retired from Public Service Company of Colorado Employees Credit Union where he was the manager. He is also a member of Masonic Lodge 17 and is a Past Master. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl J. and Mary M. Downey, two brothers Jess Francis “Frank” and Dean Alvin Downey, and one grandson Gary Westwood. He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Bessie M. Downey, one daughter M. Elaine (Carl) Owen; one son, William (Jane) Downey; grandchildren Kathy, Stacie, Sara, and Larry; 8 great grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him. Viewing will be Monday from 2-4 pm at Imperial Funeral Home. Services will be Tuesday at 10:00 am at Imperial.
