Mary Pechek (95), born February 22, 1928, passed peacefully on Wednesday, August 16, 2023. She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Anna Mihelich, husband Daniel E. “Guzz” Pechek, her son Daniel Joseph Pechek, brothers Mike and Joe Mihelich, and sisters Rose Cardinale, Mildred Spurlock, and Katherine Chorak.
She is survived by her daughters Danille (Steve) Hoover and Michelle (Dennis) McKenzie; grandchildren Dustin (Lauren) Hoover and Tiffany Hoover, Chelsie (Brandon) Elder, Tahnee (Zach) Norton, and Kayleigh (Joey) Musso; great-grandchildren Theodore and Ronan Hoover, McKenzie and Lincoln Elder, Paxton Norton, and Landyn Musso. She is also survived by her niece and caregiver Donna Milusnic, sister-in-law Mitzi Drobnick and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary retired from the CF&I where she worked 30 plus years as a Computer Operator. She was a member of Our Lady of the Meadows Church, and a member of St. Jacob Lodge #402, and Pueblo Aerie No. 145 (FOE). She loved bowling, tennis, and was especially known for her golf skills. Her most favorite hobby was spending time playing with her grandkids, and most recently her great-grandkids, but most of all she was an avid QVC shopper.
In lieu of food and flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to UNAIDS through TG McCarthy Funeral Home.
Funeral Mass will be Friday, August 25, 2023 at 10am at Our Lady of the Meadows, 23 Starling Dr, followed by entombment at Roselawn Cemetery.
