Mirko E Samec

Mirko Edward Samec, 102, passed away February 6, 2011. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Ruth R. Samec; seven brothers, Phillip, Joseph, Stanley, Edward, Frank, Raymond, and Henry; four sisters, Mary, Stella, Olga and Emma. He is survived by his children, Martha (Kenneth) Price, Linda Samec, and John Samec; grandchildren, Stuart (Denise) Price, Chris (Shelley) Price, Jennifer Severson; great-grand-children, Conner Price, Grace Severson, Ella Severson; sister-in-law, Mildred Stofac; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; and his cat, Smokey. Mirko retired from CF & I after 46 years. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting and fishing in the high country as a young man. Goose hunting and fishing with his friends and family at Pueblo Reservoir became his passion later in his life. He liked to cook and tend his garden. Above all, he was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Funeral Services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, February 10, 2011, at T.G. McCarthy Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery. In lieu of food and flowers, donations may be made in Mirko’s memory to Sangre de Cristo Hospice or PAWS through the funeral home office.
