Born on October 10, 1936 in Pueblo, Colorado, she was the daughter of Walter and Louise Mauro. She graduated from Centennial High School and obtained her lifetime teaching certificate from Colorado State College (now the University of Northern Colorado). She worked in District 60 Public Schools for 32 years, teaching first grade at Fulton Heights, Parkview, and Highland Park.
She was a member of the Centennial High School Alumni Association, the Alpha Sigma Tau sorority, Daughters of Isabella, and the Jack Xpress.
She worked hard to bring Destination Imagination to Pueblo, and was the Southern Region Director for many years.
She loved baseball and politics, and she always rooted for the Rockies, the Yankees, and the Democrats.
She will be remembered for her love of baseball, her sense of humor, and her quirky phrases, but most of all, for her love of family gatherings.
She is loved and survived by:
Her children and their spouses: James and Roberta, Jeffrey and Jean, and Jacqueline and Doug.
Her eight grandchildren: James, Bradley, David, Brittany, Brianna, Madison, Jack, and Grace.
And two great grandchildren: Remy and McLain.
She is also survived by her brothers, Walter and Thomas, her sister-in-law, Jo Ann, and their children, Walter, Cindy, Amy, and Andrea, whom she adored.
Her life was also enriched by many friends, including Joanne Cortese, Sharon Stealey, and Larry Passalacqua, and her amazing caregivers Peggy Gonzales and Ruth Watkins.
We know Patricia will be “just ducky” in heaven.
