Richard Chavez, 79, passed away March 18, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents, Porfirio and Maclovia Chavez; brother, Porfirio Jim Chavez; sisters, Mary (Isador) Montoya, Amelia (Aggie) Pando and Annabelle Trujillo. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Josephine Chavez of AZ; three goddaughters, Kimberly (Terry) Callaghan of Colorado Springs, Bernadette (Nick) Laydon of Pueblo, Tina Elizabeth (Mark) Crowley of NY; several nieces, including special niece, Vicky A. Trujillo; nephews and other relatives. Richard was a member of St. Mary Parish and the American Legion, Post #2. He retired from the Pueblo Army Depot after 27 years. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m., Friday, March 23, 2012, at St. Mary Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
