

Richard David Dolan was born in Minneapolis Minnesota on August 31, 1940. He graduated high school in Ogilvie, Minnesota in 1959. He then enlisted in the Army and served in Germany, Korea, and several stateside posts. He served in Vietnam from 1967 to 1968 where he was awarded Silver Star, Bronze Star, and a Purple Heart. He retired as MSG E8 in Fort Wainwright, Alaska in 1991.
Dick loved the outdoors, camping, fishing, and skiing. He was a talented and creative artist, painter, and professional art framer. He also loved animals and always had a pet. His family and close friends knew him as a devoted and loving man who was always there when needed.
He is survived by his former spouse Jane Dolan; children Todd (Nancy) Dolan, Dawn (James) Clemons; grandchildren Noah Dolan, Abigail Dolan; sister Lily (Thomas) Young; brother John Dolan; nieces and nephews, Ryan Young, Heather Young, Sherry Dolan, and Sean Dolan. He was preceded in death by his parents Harvey and Vivian Dolan.
He passed on February 15, 2022 in Colorado Springs Colorado. He will be dearly missed.
Funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, March 5 with visitation from 10 to 11 AM at Washburn-McReavy Werness Brothers Chapel, 2300 West Old Shakopee Road, Bloomington, MN 55432, 952-884-8145. Inurnment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date.
