Robert Lee Smith, Jr.

Robert Lee Smith,Jr., lovingly known as “Bud”,was born on July 31, 1939 and was called home to the Lord on February 9, 2024 at the age of 84. He was born in Pueblo, Colorado to Robert L. Smith,Sr. and Marguerite (Kittrell) Smith. After serving 7 years in the US Navy,he returned to Pueblo, earned a degree in nursing and worked at the Colorado State Hospital as a Nurse Supervisor on Forensics / Liaison between the Minimum and Maximum Security Wards for 34 years until retirement. He loved spending time outdoors doing things including: maintaining an immaculate lawn and rose garden, camping and fishing.

He is preceded in death by parents Robert and Marguerite Smith, his previous wife; Iris (Young) Smith and brother; Edward Smith.

His memory will live on through his loving wife of 24 years; Jan Smith (Miles), brother Wayne (Christine) Smith of Pueblo, CO, sister; Rose Marchbanks of Charlotte, NC, sister-in-law; Gwen (Phil) Smith Alexander of Kansas City, KS; daughters Stephanie (Eric) Nelson-McCord of Montevallo, AL and Cyndi (Scott) Oby of Charlotte NC, step children; Lisa (Shane )McKay of Las Vegas, NV and Justin (Krystle) Pyles of Castle Rock, CO; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, several brothers & sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.

He will be greatly missed.

Visiting hours will be 4-6 pm on Friday February 16, 2024 at Imperial Funeral Home, 5450 Highway 78, Pueblo, Colorado 81005. His service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday February 19, 2024 at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, 1044 Spruce St Pueblo, Colorado 81004.
