Shirley Louise McIntyre

Shirley Louise Shustar McIntyre, proud daughter of Slovenian Heritage and offspring of Pueblo, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 17, 2020. She was the beloved mother and grandmother of Christine (Ron) Armstrong of Pueblo, Colorado and their children Brian (Kimalee) Armstrong, Richard (Emelie) Armstrong, Kathryn (Kioni) Arend and Susanna Armstrong; Carolynn (Patrick) Scully of Apopka, Florida and their children Erin (Cliff) Norman, Briget (Jimmy) Walker, David (Laura) Scully, Joseph (Katie) Scully; Cynthia Carter of Johnstown, Colorado and her children Kari Wright and Kristi (Aaron) Ure; Michael (Lori) McIntyre of Pueblo, Colorado and their children Matthew (Casey), Tyler and Lindsay (Sammy Taravella) McIntyre; Melinda (David) Arguello of Denver, Colorado and their children Becci McIntyre, Tazmann, Jeffrey and Savannah Arguello; Merri Ellen (Paul) Bush of Groveland, Florida and their children Ryan (Pamela) Bush, Lisa Draughn, Christyna (Dan) Sterling, Lyn Askey (Shaina Light) and Jonathon Bush. Also surviving are great-grandchildren: Niklas, Cooper and Megan Armstrong, Riley, Spencer and Iris Armstrong, Natalie O’Dell and Sydney Arend, Paige and Brooke Norman, Abigail and Lincoln Walker, Scott, Jacob and Emma Scully, Logan and Brodie Snell, Kaylea and Landon Ure, Jordy and Lane McIntyre, Jeremiah and Sahryah Bush, Nathaniel and Colton Draughn, Gwendolyn and Sami Grace Sterling, and Ashton Bush. Shirley is also survived by her brother-in-law, Bob, nieces Kathie Dolce, Terri (Stewart) Abbott, and Judy (Brad) Sprague along with numerous members of the Shuster, Yaklich and McIntyre families. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Shustar and Josephine Yaklich, husband of 47 years, David McIntyre, sons, David Kevin and David Jeffrey (Sharon), son-in-law, Robert Carter, and granddaughter, Kelly Christine. She is followed in death by her sister, Eileen Comiskey who died January 21, 2020. Besides being a loving matriarch to the family, she will be remembered for her green thumb. She was an ambassador for the Regent Independent Living and Brookdale Assisted Living. She loved her Catholic faith and truly enjoyed going to the Eucharist as often as she could. She last attended Our Lady of the Meadows on Christmas Eve where she totally enjoyed the children in the Christmas pageant. She will be missed by many friends and acquaintances. In the weeks before she died, she told her children that she had a contract with God and that is what we hold fast to in these difficult weeks. We will celebrate her life in Christ at a Funeral Mass on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Our Lady of the Meadows, 11:00 AM with a Rosary preceding at 10:30 AM. Inurnment will take place at a later date. In lieu of food and flowers, please make donations to your favorite charities in her name.
