Steven Sanchez, 97, of Boone, was born July 9, 1921 in Las Vegas, New Mexico to Samuel Sanchez and Tomasita Gonzales- Sanchez. He passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2018.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Matthew Sanchez, Jacob Sanchez, and Joe Sanchez; sister Lilly Urtiaga; and son Joey Sanchez.

He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Vivian Sanchez; children Samuel Joseph (Elma) Sanchez, Susan (David) Romero, Nancy (Bob) Baxter, Steven Sanchez and Michael Sanchez; three grandsons Samuel, Dennis and Steven; five granddaughters Tammy, Nicole, Michelle, Joanna, and Kendra; fifteen great grandchildren and many extended family members and friends.

Steven enjoyed riding his horses, going fishing in the Rocky Mountains, walking, and exercising. He was a work-aholic, but would never miss out on a family event or vacation. He had a strong faith.

A visitation will occur Thursday, October 11, 2018 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Imperial Funeral Home. His rosary will occur Friday, October 12, 2018 at 10:00 AM with the mass of christian burial at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church, Avondale. Burial to follow in the Imperial Memorial Gardens.
