Thomas A. Marranzino - 81 of Pueblo West, Colorado, formally of Stratford, Connecticut passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday, May 15, 2024. He was born on December 4, 1942, in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Tom is survived by his loving wife Betty of almost 61 years. Their 3 devoted daughters, Lisa Marranzino of Pueblo, Sherri Marranzino of Pueblo, and Amy Chatlos (Joe Chatlos) of Stratford, Connecticut. They have 8 grandchildren, Hunter Marranzino (Mercedes) of Wittmann, Arizona Shannon Chatlos of Pueblo, Bailey Butler of Panama City, Florida, Harli Butler of Pueblo, Joshua Chatlos of Stratford, Connecticut, Cody Garrett of Canon City, Colorado, Tara Butler of Phoenix, Arizona and Adrianne Garrett of Tumwater, Washington. They also have 3 great-grandchildren, Ryder Marranzino, Laramie Garrett, and Willow Marranzino along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is predeceased by his parents Thomas J. Marranzino and Natalie (Gravino) Marranzino of Stratford, Connecticut, and his brother Anthony J. Marranzino of Surfside, South Carolina.
Tom graduated from Stratford High School in 1960: where after graduation he enlisted in the Army and served from 1960-1963. He was stationed in Kentucky, Texas, and Germany. He and Betty were married on November 30, 1963. They moved to Pueblo, Colorado in 1971. He was a member of Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 20/58 where he dedicated his life for over 50 years as a pipefitter/welder. After his retirement, he went on to teach welding for Pueblo Community College (Vocational Classes) and YOS (Youthful Offenders System.) He was also an avid hunter.
He is also survived by a host of extended family, Doug, Kathy, and Charlie Gabel, Matt and Jennifer Adney, Aaron, Roberta, Elliana and Erinne Williams, Joe Costanza, Ken, Danielle, Vance and Danika Ovesky, Tony Gersick, Cory Voss, Starla Lawrence and Kayden Latchaw.
A Catholic Mass will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at 2 pm at St. Pius X, 3130 Morris Avenue with a reception to follow. Father Zaldy Norba to officiate. A burial with full military honors by the US Army Honor Guard will be held privately.
