

William S. Vensor 82, born October 20, 1931, in Medinas, Colorado, passed away March 12, 2014, in Pueblo, Colorado. He is preceded in death by his parents, William Esteban and Adele (Gomez) Vensor; mother-in-law, Lois Mann; brothers, Malcolm (Sharon) Vensor and Reuben (Helen) Vigil; sisters, Eva Vensor and Amy Chavez; daughter, Melissa Adele Vensor; and granddaughter, Alison Rose Hibernik. William is survived by his wife of 53 years, Toni Louise Vensor, whom he married, December 19, 1961, in Walsenburg, Colorado; son, Scott (Holly) Vensor; 5 grandchildren, Brendon Hibernik, Elijah Blue Burns, Katie Elizabeth Burns, Ashley Morgan Vensor and Emma Reese Vensor; sister, Carmen Baca; sisters and brothers-in-law, Dixie Johnson, Freddie (Joyce) Mann, Melinda (Burk) Barnett, Denise (Mark) Holloman; father-in-law, Edgar H. Mann, as well as numerous loving nieces, nephews and friends. William served in the U.S. Air Force; and was Honorably Discharged as a Sargent on March 26, 1956, receiving many medals, including the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Korean Service Medal, and the United Nations Service Medal. He was an educated man with a Bachelor of Arts from Southern Colorado State College; Master of Arts from Adams State College and a type D Certification in Secondary Education from the University of Wyoming. William was an Educator for Pueblo District #60 and #70, Pueblo Community College, University of Southern Colorado, Sangre de Cristo Arts Center and St. Mary’s Catholic School. He was also a Board Member for the YWCA, and a Founding Member of Pueblo Youth Baseball. He faithfully attended Ascension Episcopal Church, as well as St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, where he was a Vestry/Board Member, as well as conducted various Lay Ministries.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to a Continuing Education Fund for the grandchildren.
