Zita Celeste Sicilia, 76, of Pueblo West, Colorado, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026. A devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend, Zita will be remembered for her tender heart, boundless compassion, and the quiet strength she carried throughout her life.
Born on April 2, 1949, in Springfield, Illinois, Zita was the daughter of William and Zita Powell. Her early years in Illinois shaped the gentle yet determined woman she would become—someone who loved deeply, gave freely, and stood up for what mattered to her. She often spoke of her family with immense pride, especially her two children, Chris and April, who were the light of her life.
Zita will always be remembered for her breathtaking baby blue eyes, eyes that seemed to see the good in everyone. Sweet and compassionate, she loved with her whole heart, yet she never shied away from life’s challenges. Friends and family alike admired her unwavering spirit.
A creative soul at heart, Zita found immense joy in crafting. Her love for plastic canvas work, coloring, and the quiet patience of playing solitaire filled her days with peace and purpose. More than anything, her animals were her pride and joy. From her parrot, to her loyal dogs and even her fish, Zita’s home was full of life, laughter, and the steady rhythm of companionship. Her nurturing nature extended to all creatures, a testament to her ever-loving personality.
Zita is survived by her cherished children, Chris Sicilia and April Crespin; her loving sisters, Carol Gavin and Tammy Harris, Son-in-law Anthony Crespin; and countless relatives and friends who were touched by her kindness. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward Sicilia, as well as her parents, William and Zita Powell.
Her family takes comfort in knowing that the love Zita shared continues to ripple outward through all those who were blessed to know her. Her memory will live on in every craft she created, every pet she cared for, and every heart she warmed.
Always Love You More
