He was a Veteran of the United States Army and he owned & operated Howards Grocery in Minor Hill for many years.
Survivors include his wife Virginia of Minor Hill, son Bobby Shelton of Goodspring, daughters Gwen Scott of Five Points and Vickie Wiley of Pulaski, brother Joe Howard of Decatur, sister Mary Elizabeth Dollar of Huntsville, 9 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Thursday May 16, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. until Funeral time at 1:00 p.m. at Carr & Erwin Funeral home. Burial to follow in Minor Hill Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Minor Hill First Baptist Church.
