Dixie Upton

Mrs. Upton was born October 9, 1934 in McCarr, Kentucky to Harrison and LuVinia Varney Smith. She was a minister with the church of God of Prophecy, a Sunday school teacher and youth leader for many years. She was a retired caregiver, a loving wife, sister, mother and great grandmother. Mrs. Upton was preceded in death by her parents, her 1st husband Joseph Edward Phillips, 2nd husband Robert W. Upton, one son Rexford Philips, five brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be Thursday May 15, 2014 from 5 until 8 p.m. at Carr & Erwin Funeral Home. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday May 16, 2014 at Carr & Erwin Chapel with interment in Beechwood Cemetery.

Survivors include her son Landy Dean Phillips and wife Cheryl of Pulaski, sister Ruth Ratliff of Pulaski, grandchildren Jason Phillips, Chastity Hobbs and husband Matthew, Seth Phillips, Jessica Young and husband Clint, Christopher Phillips and wife Dreama, great grandchildren Carson Phillips, Lindsey Phillips, Presley Miles, Brylee Hobbs, Alex Young, and Lewis Young.
